PopulationsMy Approach
My practice encompasses folks of all types but I do tend to serve folks with ADHD and Autism and many individuals that work in the gaming and tech industries. When engaging with my clients, I believe that our environment, society, and the people that we come into contact with can play a variety of roles in how we interact with the world. I primarily utilize systemic, person-centered modalities while integrating skills and strengths based approaches that fit best for you and your individual goals.
Therapy
Therapy should feel like you’re actively processing while receiving the same amount of insight and thoughtfulness back from your therapist. I am a conversational therapist by nature and like making sure that my clients are feeling and understood as we process together. However, processing looks different for everyone and I highly encourage clients to bring in pieces of media or art that they feel might describe their experiences or feelings better than words can. I am a huge proponent of listening to music or playing a video game in therapy and enjoy finding unique therapeutic interventions to reach everyone at whatever comfort level they are at.
Types of Therapy
I draw from several evidence-based approaches to individual therapy, including those listed below. The specific approaches are tailored to each client and their preferences and needs.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Family Systems
Person-Centered
Relational
Strength-Based
Systemic
Trauma Focused (Cognitive Processing)
Assessment
I believe that assessments can be an excellent tool in helping us gain more insight into our mental health and how we are experiencing the world. The assessment process should be a collaborative effort and tailored to your specific questions and needs. Many femmes and adults have been misdiagnosed or looked over for certain diagnoses which makes it important to me that we discuss your experiences and that we use assessment tools that will directly address your referral questions.
